Winter Program at Hawaii Palms
WINTER 2024 at HAWAII PALMS
This winter, we have classes for Kindergarteners, Kids, Teens, and Adults
KINDERGARTEN CLUB4 and 5 years old
- Kindergarten Club is offered in the MORNING, in the AFTERNOON, or ALL DAY.
- ALL DAY sessions include lunch with their teacher.
- Students learn and practice English through ART, CRAFTS, GAMES, and SONGS.

WINTER KIDS PROGRAM6 – 12 years old
- All day English Immersion program
- Make many new friends in Hawaii
- Classroom Lessons and Daily Activities
- All levels welcome
- ACADEMIC KIDS PROGRAM: for advanced level students

TEENS SEMI INTENSIVE COURSE & MORNING ACTIVITIES 12 – 15 years old
- Morning activities that encourage speaking and listening.
- Afternoon classroom lessons with a set curriculum.
- English classes divided into 2 levels.
- Students must be enrolled in Jr. High School.

Welcome back Alyssa!
After 5 years in Japan, Alyssa is back as our Kids Program Head Teacher!
1.How was your experience in Japan?
It’s hard to sum it up in a few sentences, but the five years I spent in Japan were amazing. I spent so many weekends seeing, doing, eating things for the first time and really loved having so many new experiences all the time. Living in Japan made me more independent, open-minded, understanding; and I think a better, more responsible member of society. I loved working there, teaching English, and some of my best memories were made with my students. I will always be grateful to them for contributing to such an unforgettable five years.
- Are there any differences in your teaching skills before and after Japan?
100%. In college, I studied education and teaching with regards to elementary schools in America. While I learned a lot, my knowledge of teaching English as a foreign language to non-native speakers was limited. After having taught thousands of children in elementary and junior high school in Japan, I have learned how to work with students who think, learn, behave, and respond differently from each other. No one student was alike, and so I often had to adapt my teaching style to fit the needs of a variety of students. I can now better understand the perspective of a non-native speaker and where they may be coming from on their English learning journey.

3. What message do you want to send to the kids who join our program?
We are so happy to have you and are really looking forward to meeting you! I truly hope that you have a lot of fun and make many good memories here in Hawaii and at Hawaii Palms. In your time here, I think you’ll make new friends, see beautiful places, play fun and exciting games, and enjoy using English along the way. See you soon!
